Dirty Lies: Most Americans would consider this a small pot, while most Chinese would consider this pot rather large. Really, it's just the right size for everyone to appreciate.
The Truth: The Always Teapot is always a good tea pot for the occasion. At 250ml, it fills an 8 ounce mug just right, giving you a cup of perfectly brewed tea in under a minute. Kind of like the French Press of tea, but quicker, tastier and re-steepable. It also is great for gong fu style drinking, giving 4-6 people a cup-full each brew.
Every tea will vary slightly. Moreover, temperature, tea, and water values all must strike a balance to suit personal preference.
That said, rough guidelines for brewing with this pot follow:
- Green tea 160-175° water
2-3g for 2-3 min, for two steeps
3-5g for 1 min 30 sec for first steep, expect 4 steeps
- Wulong 175-195° water is common, but 208° is also common.
